Both composers made use of the chromatic scale and how it is demonstrated throughout the piece. I found it particularly interesting how Liszt chose to end his etude when it began soft and legato. It was a surprise to me, however, on how Chopin ended his revolutionary etude. It began forceful and fortissimo and ended almost as intense as it began... displayed 300 characters

The piece made me think of someone walking up a very dismal path that led to a creepy castle atop a hill, played by the orchestra. On the exterior the castle was morbid having gargoyles on it but when the individual walked in there was a great dance and everyone was well dressed and the interior of this castle atop this hill was magnificent, played by the piano... |
