He gave up hope on his father just like the others.
Wiesel had to do a good job forgetting these things. All these events were very hard to
live through. Questioning G-d and his existence is not allowed in the Jewish religion. Giving up
on his father was absolutely very hard also. If he did not forget these for a while, he'd probably
