Another difference between the two narrators is that while the "A Rose for Emily" narrator tells the story in a flashback, the "Sonny's Blues" narrator tells his story as its happening. This makes for some very different style of story telling for both of these narrators. It is quite apparent that each of these narrators has very unique differences but this does not make one better than the other...
