Early on in the movie there is a scene where Josh Hartnett is practicing for a boxing match and he’s wearing a hooded sweatshirt that looks like it’s at least from the 80’s, which kind of set the tone for the movie for me. Even the way they made love was not like anything in that time the kissing was soft and tender, but in the movie it was rough and hard, and there was a lot more skin in this movie than in any 40’s movie I’ve seen... displayed 300 characters

This really pointed to a movie that was made way later than the 40’s.
I realize that the movie was not supposed to look like it was made in the 40’s, not only just set in it. But, it really didn’t depict life in the 40’s. I can’t even imagine what it was like to write everything for this movie; it must have been a hard task... displayed next 300 characters
