Before Costigan could get Sullivan to the police, however, he was killed by another mole. I really liked the end of the movie where the police officer shot Sullivan after he figured out who he was. It was unexpected and a nice surprise. He ended up being a complete rat all the way around considering the fact that he shot the man he was working for and was also the rat in the police...

I also liked the possibility that the girlfriend's baby could have been Costigan's baby instead of Sullivan's. It was just a shame that he died. The men in this movie talked with very strong Boston accents that were very different than what I am accustomed to with the Italians. The Italians seemed to be more involved in things other than drugs than the Irish did...
