I think that Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger used their lines well for what was written for them, as poorly script as it was. Co-stars Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway seemed to portray the wives of the gay cowboys quite well, with what little acting that was required from them. The romance between the two men did not convince me they were lovers, but just very good friends...
