If he hadn't loved Rome more than Caesar then he wouldn't of helped kill Caesar. The conspirators wouldn't of been able to do it by themselves because they didn't have Brutus as an excuse. The people would of thought that Caesar's death was pointless. If Brutus wasn't in the play you probably wouldn't even consider it THE TRAGEDY of Julius Caesar...
