One shot, two shot, three shot, and four
The sound of silence is broken by the shattering noise
Screams, cries, and anger arises
People fuss and put pieces together
Why must this happen to me
Why must things like this take place?
War was for the people back then
The people who made mistakes
The people who were illiterate
War is meant to separate people
War is used not to unit
People screaming at innocent people
For the things that they haven’t even done
This guest of wind of anger and hatred is spun
Your skins tan
You look Arabic
You are a terrorist
I cover my head with a hijjab
People stare and glare
Think that I am forced to wear
When they don’t really know the truth
I respect myself as a woman to be true
Walking in the subway
Thinking that this will be a freeway
But still people stop and stare
Whisper and glare
Give dirty looks as if I were a sin
As I step into the train
A tall thin man approaches me with a look of fade
Comes to me to take away my fame
Empty your bags as if I committed a robbery
I’m just an average person who wants to be left alone
Treated as if I was doing a wrong
Makes me feel ashamed
Looks at me as if I did do something wrong
Gives me back my bag
With the look of suspicion that I will catch you one day
Go back to your home
You’re not wanted here
You’re a monster who does not see our fear
This is our country not yours
You do not belong
My house is vandalized with threats and taunts
Windows are smashed things are thrown
Words are used to hurt and people start to ignore
All I can do is ask what I have done
Peace and justice is something that I don’t seem to understand
Not everyone’s perfect
I can certainty tell you I’m not
So why should someone else be
We all make mistakes
I heard the screams from the towers
I heard people talking about power
I wanted to help them out
But I wasn’t accepted
They were afraid of me
I wondered if I would ever be accepted to belong
If jumping to conclusion is something you do
Then you must clearly be wrong
Read through the charter, the facts and the books
Discrimination is not a right but a crime
If I were to commit this crime
I would have been convicted
But since I am not of that race or that other ethicality
I will be the one to blame
Hiding these fears back not to show them
Tears of anger appear in my eyes
Holding them back I let everything slide past me
I wonder if one day these things would lack
If I could change the hands of time
I would make sure I was in that plane
To tell those ignorant that what they did was a sin
I wonder what the world has come to fulfill this stupid thing
Do you not see the fear of god?
Cause you have to go living through this everyday life which is a fraud
All this has caused me pain, fear, and suffering
I have to go through this every day,
Imagine what others go threw
Day and night with threats and fights
Seeing things that you dead do not see or feel
Pain, tears and hatred is all I get and do
This bad dream will all disappear
One day this will happen
But right now all I can do is dream for t hat day of freedom to appear
