Brutus was asked to join the conspiracy by the senate to give it a noble appearance. The whole story was kind and deceiving people. The theme of the story brought the reader into it.
Tension and suspense was brought into the story by how it was all planned out about the killing of Caesar and how the reader had to wait until the near end just to find out how it happened...

The way Brutus turned on Caesar brought tension to the story and made you wonder if he would actually go through with it. In the Senate as they all talk it makes you wait until they kill Caesar.
I think the tension build up faster as you got more through the story. It wasn’t vicious and everyone wasn't turning against each other at the beginning...
