Essay content:
Over a sea of murky orange and red
As the leaves on their vines
Change color with the season
In the distance is a face
A face, familiar
I know that face
Slowly details become clear
The azure eyes - like the sea at first dawn
After a story night
The tanned skin - the sun has never been so kind
To skin as to make its features so beautiful
Next to me is an empty seat
One that will stay empty
Whether I want it to or not
No one knows me: I'm invisible to the senses
Trees surround me
A forest of - not trees
A forest of people
A forest of faces
One stands out from the rest
The one in the distance
Over the ocean of earthen colors
The only one that sees "me"
The powerful arms - strong enough to lift the world
Unknown to man, hidden amongst the leaves
The muscled legs - rooted to the earth that is not
Actually earth, but the remains of a broken heart underfoot
I sit here alone
Trying to put a name to the face over the sea
And to the body of a tree
In the forest of faces
Images of the face and body
Appear in my sight
In my mind's eye
They are the one closest to me
The fact that I cannot place
A name to the body and face
Of the one closest to me
Drives me up the wall
All around me the silent air
Drowns out the voices in my head
That all drone on about nothing
Making me realize my insufficiency
The name of the face and body
Of the one closest to me
Arouses a feeling inside me
One I've never felt before
The name of the face and body
Of the one closest to me
Bounds to my mind, coming out of hiding
And prompts me to ensure
That my Beautiful Hellion is mine
